The J. A Bauer Pottery Co. was the first to break with the tradition of white porcelain for the dinner table. In addition to their well-known and highly collected brightly colored Ring dinnerware, Bauer produced many lines of garden pottery and giftware. The Cal-Arts line was art deco inspired and reflected the design taste of the late 1930's. The designer, Ray Murray was also responsible for the streamlined, Gloss Pastel series.
I'm a Bauer Ring Tall Vase with a Mexican Themed Decal
Hi! I’m a Bauer red (as it is called, although It looks more red-orange) Ringware vase with a Mexican themed decal. I was made in Los Angeles, California. My line, the Bauer Ringware line was designed by Louis Ipsen beginning production in 1933 for the J.A. Bauer Pottery Co. I'm a sturdy fellow, I measure 11 inches tall and 5 1/2 inches in diameter. My decal is showing it's age but it's in very good condition.
