August 19th is National Black Cow Day!

Holy cow, talk about controversy! There are many opinions on what makes a Black Cow Float. Some people say it’s a root beer float, some people say it’s a root beer float with chocolate syrup. Most people say a Black Cow is vanilla ice cream and Coca-Cola. Some people say it should also have a little chocolate syrup. In AwesomeLand, we’re going with that! Some people even disagree on the actual day for Black Cow Day. Since it seems to be the most agreed-upon date, we’re celebrating on August 19th.

Here you see a genuine Black Cow, served in a bottle green Coca-Cola glass. The adorable green depression glass serving tray was probably produced in the 1920s to the 1930s, long after the Black Cow was supposedly discovered in 1893.
